Privacy policy
This policy explains what data the RepUp Android app and the website repupp.fit collect, why, where it's kept, and how you can delete it. In this policy, "RepUp", "we" and "us" mean the developer of the RepUp app and this website.
Questions? Email hello@repupp.fit.
The short version
- We collect what's needed to run your account and sync your workouts. Nothing more.
- No ads, no advertising IDs, no analytics or tracking tools in the app.
- We don't sell your data or share it for anyone else's marketing.
- You can delete your account and your data at any time.
What we collect
Account details
- If you sign up with email: your name, your email address and a password. Your password is stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider. We never see it.
- If you continue with Google: Google shares your name, email address, Google account ID and a link to your profile photo. The app doesn't show or use your photo, but our sign-in provider keeps the link with your account.
- An account ID we create for you, used to keep your data separate from everyone else's.
Workout data
- Exercises, including any you create, and your routines.
- Workouts: when you start and finish them, the exercises you do, and each set's weight, reps, and whether it was a warm-up.
- Training targets the app suggests, and whether you used or changed them.
- Your settings, such as kilograms or pounds.
Launch list sign-ups on this website
If you ask to be told when RepUp launches, we store the email address you enter and the date you signed up.
What we don't collect
- Your location, contacts, or advertising ID.
- Your photos. When you save an achievement card, the app adds it to your phone's gallery. It doesn't read your photos, and we don't receive them.
- Usage analytics, crash reports, or ad tracking. The app contains no such tools.
Technical logs
Like any online service, our hosting providers automatically keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses and request times, to run the service and keep it secure.
How we use your data
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To save your workouts and sync them across your devices.
- To work out your next training targets. This happens on your phone.
- To answer you when you contact us.
- To tell you when RepUp launches and send occasional RepUp updates, only if you joined the launch list.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it.
Where your data is stored
- On your phone. The app saves everything in a database on your phone first, so it works without a connection.
- In your RepUp account. When you're signed in and online, your data syncs to our servers, run by our backend provider. Each account can only read its own data.
- Data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- Our providers' servers may be in a different country from yours.
Service providers
We use these companies to run RepUp. They process data only to provide their service to us.
- Supabase: sign-in, account and database hosting for the app.
- Google: "Continue with Google" sign-in, if you choose it, and app distribution through Google Play.
- Cloudflare: hosting for this website and the launch list.
Sharing
We don't share your personal data with anyone else, except our service providers above, or where the law requires it. When you use Share or Download card in the app, you choose where it goes, and what you share is then handled by that app or person.
Your phone's backup
Depending on your phone's settings, Android may include RepUp's on-device data in your phone's backup to your Google account. That backup is managed by Google, under your Google account settings.
How long we keep data
- Account and workout data: for as long as you have a RepUp account.
- Launch list emails: until you ask us to remove yours, or we stop sending RepUp updates.
- Data on your phone: until you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
Deleting your account and data
You can ask us to delete your account and all the data it holds at any time. See how to delete your account. You can also delete individual routines and workouts in the app whenever you like.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@repupp.fit. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights too, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
RepUp isn't meant for children under 13, or under the minimum age for online services where they live. We don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use encrypted connections, and access controls that keep each account's data separate. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and fix problems quickly.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app or by email.
